Armand de Gontaut, baron de Biron was a famous French warrion. Despite taken in childhood serious wound he became chief of a cavalry regiment. He commanded the royal forces at the siege of La Rochelle in 1572, and a few years later was made a marshal of France. Furthermore, he was a godfather for cardinal Richelieu. He was killed by a cannon-ball at the siege of Épernay on 1592.
